In 2013/14 a hate crime targeting Merseyside's LGBT community was reported every 24 hours with 359 such crimes being reported to the Police. This represents 1 in 6 (16.4%) of all reported hate crimes across Merseyside.

In February 2015 the Michael Causer Foundation was recently successful in bidding for £15,000 to design, develop and deliver LGBT hate crime victims support services with and for the local LGBT community.

All members of the LGBT community are invited to attend one of our first series of confidential workshops as follows:

  • Thursday 5th March 2015 - 5.30-8.00pm at The Creative Space, Unit 51 Coffee, Jamaica Street, L1 0AF; or
  • Friday 13th March 2015 - 2.00-5.00pm at The Creative Space, Unit 51 Coffee, Jamaica Street, L1 0AF

To participate, simply email and advise which workshop you'd like to attend.

The Michael Causer Foundation was setup by murdered gay teen Michael Causer’s parents to raise funds to provide safe accommodation for LGBT young people at risk; to help tackle hate crime; and to motivate local communities to support diversity and equality. Please help us reach our aims by donating to the charity.
